- Elastic Cloud Serverless continues to expand with the addition of three new regions.
- Elastic Cloud Serverless now covers 29 regions around the world for demanding customer use cases.
- Powered by Elasticsearch, it's the fastest way to start and scale security, observability, and search hassle-free.
So much has happened since we made Elastic Cloud Serverless generally available. We started with AWS, then followed with Google Cloud and most recently Microsoft Azure. Because Elastic Cloud Serverless is engineered to tackle high-volume and high-performance workloads, we’re grateful for the collaboration with our hyperscaler partners who have enabled us to scale to meet your needs — our customers.
We’ve executed an ambitious plan outlined in our Serverless roadmap to expand our regional coverage to include vast portions of the world. We knew that regional coverage would be of paramount importance to enable you to experience the many features and benefits of Serverless all powered by a rearchitected Elasticsearch.
Fast forward to now, where our engineering progress has been significant. As we finish up FY26, we have one more round of serverless regional expansion to communicate.
New serverless regions
We’re pleased to announce the availability of Elastic Cloud Serverless on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services in the following regions effective April 14, 2026:
United Arab Emirates North (Dubai) - azure-uaenorth
AWS ca-central-1 (Canada)
AWS ap-southeast-2 (Sydney)
This expansion brings our total to nine serverless regions for Azure and nine serverless regions for AWS worldwide with an emphasis on solidifying our footprint in the Middle East and APAC. Coupled with the 10 serverless regions for Google Cloud, we’ve worked hard to bring serverless close to you wherever you are around the globe.

With these additions, we’ve expanded aggressively from six regions to 29 regions in the space of a year.
Serverless overview
For those of you who are new to Elastic, you may be wondering what all the serverless fanfare is about and why it matters.
Elastic Cloud Serverless is a fully managed, stateless architecture that autoscales to your data, usage, and performance needs. This is important given the exponential explosion in data happening across all industries. If you can’t scale to handle your data, how will you ever be able to derive the inherent insights within it?
Serverless gives you the full power of Elasticsearch without needing to handle operations, upgrades, or tuning. With ever-increasing pressure to reduce headcount and overhead, this allows you to focus your IT teams on your organization’s needs versus managing Elastic environments.
- Built on the industry-first Search AI Lake architecture, you can launch fast and tap into the latest features for retrieval augmented generation (RAG), threat hunting, logging, and beyond. This allows you to move quickly as you strive to keep up with the pace of innovation required within your organization.
