This post will walk through our macro benchmarking results for Elasticsearch on Google Axion Processors from Google Cloud. Axion is a family of custom Arm64-based processors designed to deliver enhanced performance and efficiency. We are collaborating with Google Cloud to find opportunities to consistently provide the best experience to our joint customers. We are excited to confirm that C4A, a VM instance family based on Google Axion Processors, will help us deliver on that.

Performance gains for Elastic users on Google Cloud C4A VMs

Elastic used the macro benchmarking framework for Elasticsearch Rally with the elastic/logs track to determine the indexing performance on virtual machines powered by Google Axion Processors. Our benchmarks show that C4A delivers up to 40% higher indexing throughput compared to the previous generation of VMs on Google Cloud.
