Log Aggregation for Traffic Control CDN at Cox Communications

Cox, the third-largest cable company in the US with 6.2 million customers, spent the last two years transitioning video delivery to IP utilizing a content delivery platform that they built in-house. One of the key challenges they had to overcome was how to aggregate, index, and analyze over 2.5 billion daily log entries — all using the Elastic Stack.

The Cox team was initially using Splunk, but transitioned to Elasticsearch as it worked more effectively for better scaling. Hear more about their journey through multiple iterations of their pipeline and deployment of their Elastic cluster.
