Elastic business continuity in light of COVID-19

This is an update to a recent blog covering the actions we are taking with respect to the COVID-19 situation. In the hopes of helping others, we are sharing it with our community here.

To our customers, partners, users, and friends,

As the global COVID-19 outbreak continues to evolve, we want to share the steps Elastic is taking to help ensure the well-being of our employees and communities, as well as the continuity of our business.

We know that Elastic has an important role in your business — whether that’s through product and service delivery or events, training, support, and consulting — and we don't foresee any interruptions to our critical business operations.

Our company is distributed by design. This means that our global software, systems, and workforce are set up to operate in a distributed fashion and will continue to do so. The majority of Elasticians work from home with the tools and mindset that make a distributed company like ours successful. To our knowledge, there are no confirmed cases of Elasticians with COVID-19. However, to reduce the risk of spreading the virus given its dynamic nature, we have closed all of our global offices through Friday, March 27.

Like many others, we have postponed events or moved them to be completely virtual. We are delivering all instructor-led classes in a live, virtual environment and offering on-demand courses for self-paced learners. In addition, we canceled all employee travel and are following local authorities’ guidelines for customer, partner, and community meetings and events.

We know this is an uncertain time and we will provide you with updates on our blog as the situation evolves.

Be well,

Shay
