Decemberfest is here! How we celebrate the holidays at Elastic

December is a month full of holidays and gatherings. At Elastic, we call the season’s celebration Decemberfest —  a time for all Elasticians everywhere to connect and give back.

Decemberfest is our flagship holiday celebration, running from the end of November to mid-December. 

Because we’re a distributed company, we offer multiple ways for Elasticians to celebrate and connect, regardless of where they work. In 2025, Decemberfest events brought together over 1,000 Elasticians for holiday cheer across 26 office events, 31 clusters, and 22 virtual gatherings.

Check out some of the ways we celebrated!

• In-person gatherings: We welcomed Elasticians and their plus-ones to festive offsite events in 57 different cities. The celebrations were designed for mingling, celebration, and face-to-face connection.
• Distributed team gatherings: Over 20 globally distributed teams were able to celebrate virtually across timezones with activities from holiday trivia to winter taboo! 
• Global holiday cookbook: We know that food brings people together, especially during the holidays. To further our worldwide connection and celebrate our different cultures and traditions, Elasticians could add a recipe to an Elastic eCookbook to receive charitable giving credits to donate to a cause of their choice.
• Giving back: The Workplace Experience team organized giving opportunities to support various charities around the world, partnering with organizations like Toys for Tots. Our Global Inclusion & Community Impact team also organizes annually around Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement. Every year on Giving Tuesday, Elastician’s donations are eligible for a 2:1 or even 3:1 match on our giving platform. In 2025, Elasticians’ generosity during Giving Tuesday generated over $684,000 for 1,200+ global causes.
