What's New with Elasticsearch 0.90?
We just released Elasticsearch 0.90, the first version to use Lucene 4. But this release is not just about Lucene 4. There are a whole lot of goodies that are going to make your life easier, such as:
- "Did you mean" fuzzy suggestions
- Rescoring and common terms query - improving relevance without sacrificing performance
- Social graph filters
- Memory efficient facets - big improvements in field data cache
- Sorting on multi-valued and nested fields

Clinton Gormley was the first user of Elasticsearch and wrote the Perl API back in 2010. He is a co-author of Elasticsearch: The Definitive Guide, and spends most of his time designing the user interface, specifying new features, and triaging GitHub issues. He studied medicine at UCT in Cape Town and now lives in Barcelona.
