System Functionsedit

This functionality is in beta and is subject to change. The design and code is less mature than official GA features and is being provided as-is with no warranties. Beta features are not subject to the support SLA of official GA features.

These functions return metadata type of information about the system being queried.

DATABASEedit

Synopsis:

DATABASE()

Input: none

Output: string

Description:Returns the name of the database being queried. In the case of Elasticsearch SQL, this is the name of the Elasticsearch cluster. This function should always return a non-null value.

SELECT DATABASE();

   DATABASE
---------------
elasticsearch

USERedit

Synopsis:

USER()

Input: none

Output: string

Description:Returns the username of the authenticated user executing the query. This function can return null in case Security is disabled.

SELECT USER();

     USER
