Remove policy from index APIedit

Removes the assigned lifecycle policy from an index.

POST <index>/_ilm/remove

Prerequisitesedit

  • If the Elasticsearch security features are enabled, you must have the manage_ilm privileges on the indices being managed to use this API. For more information, see Security privileges.

Descriptionedit

Removes the assigned lifecycle policy and stops managing the specified index. If an index pattern is specified, removes the assigned policies from all matching indices.

Path parametersedit

<index>
(Required, string) Identifier for the index.

Query parametersedit

timeout
(Optional, time units) Specifies the period of time to wait for a response. If no response is received before the timeout expires, the request fails and returns an error. Defaults to 30s.
master_timeout
(Optional, time units) Specifies the period of time to wait for a connection to the master node. If no response is received before the timeout expires, the request fails and returns an error. Defaults to 30s.

The following example removes the assigned policy from my_index.
