Explorers Wanted: Elastic Pioneer Program 7.0

This week, we released the alpha1 of Elastic Stack 7.0. We encourage you to test and explore all the new goodness today by downloading the alpha1 candidate.

Previous Elastic Pioneers (for 5.0 and 6.0) helped us identify issues that we could only find with the assistance from the community, and now you can help out too. As much as we test the software before release, there are users with environments we haven’t conceived of, and folks using the Elastic Stack in ways we’ve never seen. We want to know the limits of our stack so we can push them even further before general release. We’re once again launching the Pioneer Program for 7.0, so we encourage you to boldly go where no one has gone before and try out the latest version.

Note: This is a preview release and is intended for testing purposes only. There is no guarantee that any of the future beta, or release candidate, versions will be compatible with other previews, or the 7.0.0 GA. We strongly recommend that you keep this far, far away from production. And, since it is in alpha, it is not available yet on Elastic Cloud.

How to become an Elastic Pioneer

To become an Elastic Pioneer, just try out the preview of any (preferably, every) part of the Elastic Stack, and open issues as you find them in the appropriate repo — Elasticsearch, Kibana, Beats, Logstash, and APM. When you open an issue, mention that you found the bug in 7.0.0-alpha1/futurversion, and we’ll add a “Pioneer Program” label.

Every use case is different, so be sure to test yours out thoroughly. You may find a bug that only impacts your unique environment or data set, which means you might be the only person able to find it. Be your own hero, and find that bug before it makes it to GA.

Be an Elastic Pioneer and test out the pre-release of the Elastic Stack 7.0! Download the alpha1, or learn more about the pre-release.
