Elasticsearch Service on Elastic Cloud Available on G-Cloud Digital Marketplace

We are pleased to announce that Elasticsearch Service on Elastic Cloud is now available on the UK Government’s G-Cloud Framework. As of July 2, 2018, customers can begin purchasing Elasticsearch Service — the only official hosted Elasticsearch and Kibana offering by the creators of the Elastic Stack.

What is G-Cloud?

The UK Government’s G-Cloud programme — a collaboration between Government Digital Service and the Crown Commercial Service — has changed the way in which public sector organisations in the UK purchase technology. The programme supports the UK Government’s Cloud First policy and is a key component in the government’s ambition to operate a “Cloud Native” digital architecture.

The G-Cloud Framework enables all UK public sector organisations to seamlessly procure pay-as-you-go cloud services on government-approved short-term contracts through an online catalogue called the Digital Marketplace. The framework means that purchasing services becomes more efficient and cheaper for buyers rather than entering into individual procurement contracts. Nearly £3 billion has been spent through the framework to date. Government entities like the UK Ministry of Defence and the NHS Trust have reportedly leveraged G-Cloud for procurement of Cloud services.
