This Week in Elasticsearch - October 23, 2013
Welcome to This week in Elasticsearch. In this roundup, we try to inform you about the latest and greatest changes in Elasticsearch. We cover what happened in the GitHub repositories, as well as many Elasticsearch events happening worldwide, and give you a small peek into the future of the project.

- The ruby integrations have been updated as well, these are the most important changes
- The parameters to API methods are not only whitelisted, but verified -- passing an unsupported parameter will raise an exception, see commit
- Incorrect behaviour of the Curb-based HTTP client has been fixed, see commit
- Encoding of URL parts has been improved, see commit
- URL extraction in client constructor has been improved to allow more flexibility (`https`, authentication, URL prefixes, etc) , see commit
Slides
While not slides per se, you can check out the interactive coder oriented Elasticsearch tutorial Simon Willnauer used for his presentation Elasticsearch: With a Hammer in Your Hand at last week's GOTO Berlin conference.
We also now have a Speaker Deck account for all presentations given by Elasticsearch's employees that may be a useful reference resource for you.
