Your role will be based in our Mountain View, CA headquarters.</p> <p>With direction from the Director of Revenue and others, you will directly support the Company’s financial reporting function in the Revenue area. You will design and implement new revenue accounting policies under ASC 606 and IFRS, contribute as part of the adoption of a revenue automation system as well as ensure our revenue reporting is accurate. Your financial reporting responsibilities will include accounting for deals sold under ASC 606 and IFRS and managing a complex international structure. In addition, you will have significant responsibility in training and bringing up to speed new hires as the Revenue team continues to grow. Further, you will collaborate with many groups within and outside of Elastic, including: Sales, Sales Operations, Order Operations, Pricing, Legal, FP&A, the Non-Revenue Accounting Group, Business Development, Internal Audit and those outside of Elastic being external auditors and consultants. You will report to the Director of Revenue and have joint responsibility with the Director for all Revenue and related reporting worldwide.</p> <h3><strong>What You Will Do:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Ensure the accurate reporting of revenue in the company’s accounting system, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations and performing internal controls</li> <li>Assist in proposing and implementing revenue accounting policies and drafting process narratives</li> <li>Propose improvements to processes and internal controls</li> <li>Research and document accounting positions for complex transactions</li> <li>Provide advice and perspective on preparing for new products, services, go-to-market strategies or acquired company revenue streams</li> <li>Be a key part of the annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors and the overall accounting team</li> <li>Interact with numerous groups within the company to provide revenue accounting forecasts and related information and perspective</li> <li>Participate in special projects as needed.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Who You Are:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA desired</li> <li>Strong knowledge of software and SaaS revenue guidance in US GAAP, with ASC 606 a plus</li> <li>3+ years experience (audit as well as private accounting experience desired)</li> <li>Enjoy building policies and processes and making improvements</li> <li>Ability to research technical accounting issues and provide your perspective</li> <li>Ability to work both independently and as a great teammate in a dynamic environment</li> <li>Netsuite and Salesforce experience preferred</li> <li>Experience in a high-growth technology company</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Additional Information:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Competitive pay based on the work you do here and not your previous salary</li> <li>Stock options</li> <li>Global minimum of 16 weeks of paid parental leave (moms & dads)</li> <li>Generous vacation time and one week of volunteer time off</li> <li>An environment in which you can balance great work with a great life</li> <li>Your age is only a number.
