This role can be based (pretty much) anywhere in the world.</p> <p><strong>What</strong> <strong>you</strong> <strong>will</strong> <strong>be</strong> <strong>doing</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop new features in SQL for Elasticsearch</li> <li>Improve the analyzer and optimizer inside the SQL engine</li> <li>Expand SQL grammar to support Elasticsearch APIs</li> <li>Investigate performance characteristics of generated plans</li> <li>Work closely with cross product teams to expand SQL offerings at all levels of the Elastic stack</li> </ul> <p><strong>What</strong> <strong>you</strong> <strong>will</strong> <strong>bring</strong> <strong>along</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong on Java and JVM in general</li> <li>Deep understanding of SQL concepts</li> <li>Experience with SQL on the JVM (JDBC, ORM, etc...)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Plus</strong> <strong>ideally</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with parser/lexers like Antlr</li> <li>Distributed systems design and development</li> <li>Database, data stores internals</li> <li>Rule-based systems Search and analytics tools</li> <li>Framework and enterprise integration experience</li> </ul> <p><strong>Additional</strong> <strong>Information</strong></p> <ul> <li>Competitive and benefits</li> <li>Stock options</li> <li>Catered lunches, snacks, and beverages in most offices</li> <li>We have an environment in which you can balance great work with a great life</li> <li>We are passionate people building phenomenal products</li> <li>Your age is only a number.
